Food Blog | Entier French Dining | Brickfields | Kuala Lumpur
Was looking for a lunch spot for my girlfriend's birthday lunch recently and was scratching my head on where to bring her. Then I stumbled along Entier while looking for a place, and I definitely think they didn’t disappoint. Their weekend set lunch is definitely something that I would recommend for a lot of different occasions!
Is it Halal
The restaurant is not halal certified, but they are pork-free. Looking online, my understanding is that I recommend you mention this in the booking so that the marination methods, etc. follow the Muslim customs so that it is halal, but as mentioned, eat at your own discretion.
Where it Is
It is located inside Alila Bangsar (although I would describe the area as more being in the Brickfields/KL Sentral area). It stands out quite a bit among the low-rise buildings in the area, so you should be able to spot it quickly. For parking, there are really two options: you park outdoors - those street parking on the side of the road - or if you DO park in the building itself, just make sure you don’t park in the premium parking. To avoid this, go up the parking ramp (go around the back of the building), then go up a further two floors and you will hit another payment gate.
Tap the same card, and you will get a cheaper rate. I believe it is something like RM10 for first hour in the premium floor and RM3 per hour with 6% tax if you park higher. Then, just take the staircase one floor down and use the normal lift to their ground floor. Then, go to the main hotel lift and take it to the 41st floor. Yes, I know it is a complicated process, I say this because I feel like it is a pain point.

What it Costs
What I’ll be showing in this post is their Weekend Set Lunch. It is a RM168 per person offering for 3 courses. There is, however, another option of a 4 course, where you add one more appetizer on top for a total of RM198 per person. These prices are all net prices after tax - so in total, on the day, I paid RM336.
There is also another lunch tasting menu option, but they don’t list the price down.
For the weekend set lunch, there is also an option to spruce up your options a bit by getting some more premium dishes like their Lobster & Pasta main (+RM150) or their Uni & Pasta (+RM180).
My thoughts on whether you should get the 3 course would be that I actually think that this is one of the nicer set lunches that I’ve had that still leave me pretty full even after 3 courses. Generally speaking, I think that this is one of the times where I’ll say that you get exceptional value. Service is great, the ambiance is wonderful, and the food was delicious too, but I’ll go into that in the next section.
You can see their menu options right over here.
I also made a request upon booking that it was my girlfriend’s birthday so they actually gave one free dessert (I thought they might have put the decoration on one of the desserts we ordered, so I think that’s a nice touch as well).
We had the following:
Appetizers: Pumpkin & Smoke Sturgeon, Salmon Tartare
Mains: Chicken & Gnocchi, Lamb Belly
Desserts: Pistachio, Peach
How it Tastes
The short version of this section is, every dish was great!
Starting off with their bread and assortment of pickled vegetables, the bread came nice and warm, and their kombu compound butter is super tasty. I would say that maybe I wish the butter was a bit softer off the bat, because you kind of need to wait for a short bit to soften otherwise you can’t spread it, but there’s really a small detail. The bread really crackles like those ASMR videos you will come across online, so that super nice!
I think a feature of their dishes is that they’re both beautifully presented and taste wonderful, although maybe you would find my description of the pumpkin and smoked sturgeon a bit funny. I would say that initially, it looks wonderful, with these bubbles on the top. Once mixed and you try it, what I would describe it tastes like would be like an elevated scrambled eggs.
Although I think that the better one among the appetizers was the salmon tartar. I think it is the small thin pastry layer that really makes this dish pop. Super delicious and really brings the whole dish together. I think the fact that they have a tomato sorbet on the top also makes this a pretty unique dish because it’s sort of cold on top of cold with the salmon tartar and sorbet. I think one think that is nice about it is that the sorbet wasn’t that kind of overpowering kind of flavour, as how maybe I would have expected, so I think the balance of the dish overall is really nice.
Really, really hard to pick a favourite among the mains, but I think it had to be the chicken and gnocchi. Even the chicken alone is super delicious! Juicy, perfectly cooked exterior with some nice crispy bits. My girlfriend basically said it’s one of the best chicken dishes she has ever had, which says quite a lot as it is. I basically have the same sentiments. Throw in the gnocchi, which is just wonderful as well, and it really is a great main dish!
As I mentioned before, the lamb belly doesn’t come second because it’s bad, it is more because the chicken was so good, because the lamb belly was really yummy too. The lamb belly comes kind of shredded (I expected it to maybe be one whole piece because of how it was presented) with these zucchini slices on top. Another really pretty and delicious dish that I would recommend.
Before the desserts arrived, my girlfriend already knew I would basically select the Pistachio dessert as my favourite. But the Paris-Brest pastry, coupled with the vanilla ice cream and Pistachio elements are really tasty. I can’t rave about it enough, makes me feel like going back just for it.
The Peach dessert is definitely on the sweeter side, but if you have a sweet tooth like me, it’s a good option for you! Very flavourful, another pretty dish and I would say naturally I would recommend the pistachio more, but the peach dessert is quite delicious too.
The birthday dessert is below, and I think strictly speaking, it is one of the nicer complementary desserts I’ve had. It’s sort of in between an ice cream and a cake, almost like a slightly harder than whipped cream texture. Of course this is after removing the candle.
Star Rating
9/10. I really rarely give out 9s on this blog, but this is one of them. Good value, great service, wonderful ambiance and delicious food. There is literally nothing that I can point out as a significant flaw in my dining experience. Compliments to the team at Entier!
