Food Blog | Nasi Lemak World Kluang

Nasi Lemak might not really be the first thing you think of when you think of Kluang, but this is a pretty famous restaurant in Kluang, attracting crowds from all over.

Is it Halal?

Yep. This place is halal. I mean, it is Nasi Lemak, it would be a real shame if it wasn’t, wouldn’t it.

Where it Is

It is on a row full of restaurants. The few landmarks for you to find would be Continental (tyre shop) which is at the corner of the row that Nasi Lemak World is on, a few shoplots down. You can probably notice it more at night, where the chairs are out and the mini stalls opposite are open.

Address: Nasi Lemak World, Persiaran Dato Haji Ismail Hassan, Kampung Masjid Lama, 86000 Kluang, Johor

Opening Hours: 4pm to 12 midnight everyday

What it Costs

I apologise profusely today, because I actually forgot the price of the Nasi Lemak. Sincere apologies, but I can assure you that it is in the normal kind of range. It is somewhere between RM5 and RM10, that’s what I CAN remember.

But what you can get here is something you can find at numerous other Malay stalls, which would be additional snacks like satay which can be ordered from opposite the road, and even shisha is available here (sorry, not sure about the price of that here as well).

How it Tastes

Pretty darn average. It is almost like an economy rice (mixed rice) style of Nasi Lemak, in the sense that you can see the dishes inside and almost get what you want yourself. The rice is meh, I will admit the chicken is really crispy, but that’s all I will really comment on for that.

Some people in my group did say they found the sambal quite spicy, but I found it just about okay. The portion is quite normal, you’ll most likely be quite filled up with one portion of either their Nasi Lemak or Nasi Goreng.

This Place is Suitable For …

Budget, fast, simple, basic Nasi Lemak that would be suitable for a lot of people. Maybe parents of little kids might want to avoid this place because there’s a lot of smoke from the satay, smoking and the shisha combined, but otherwise I think that this is a place very suitable for most people.

Star Rating

5.5/10. Really average, in my opinion. Not worth coming for a first try, but worth if you are in the area often and are in need for some simple food that you know you’ll be able to tolerate even in bulk.
