Food Blog | Eletime (原蔬食刻) Vegetarian Restaurant | Sutera JB
As my more regular readers may know, my girlfriend has been really into vegetarian food lately, this is the latest episode of our vegetarian food adventures, this time taking us to Eletime at Sutera JB!
Is it Halal?
I can’t find any particular information about halal status but I would say that this is a pretty safe place given this is a vegetarian restaurant after all. They are not vegan, but they are indeed vegetarian.
Where it Is
It is located at the row of shops outside Sutera Mall. What you’ll basically want to use as a landmark would be Family Mart because it is basically right next to it. Parking is free but hard to come by sometimes, so it might be worth to just take any parking that you may see once you’re in the vicinity.
Address: 93, Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/2 Taman Sutera Utama Skudai, 81300 Johor Bahru, Johor
Operating Hours
Please do note that the following apples to CMCO - but I’ll come back and edit this if I find the time afterwards.
What it Costs
I do highly suggest you check out their Facebook page before visiting because there are LOTS of promotions available that might make your meal uber cheap.
My girlfriend and I ordered a Vegan Steak Burger (RM18) and a Butter Crispy Mushroom Set (RM13.90). So I would estimate that per person cost would be around RM15/pax. I believe water isn’t free here but there is also a wide variety of drinks on their menu. All prices are net prices - our bill came up to RM31.90.
You can take a look at their menu by clicking on this link! Not going to lie, I was pretty impressed by the size of their menu because there are LOTS of choices. Probably the most I’ve seen for any vegetarian restaurant in JB so far.
How it Tastes
I had more of the Vegan Steak Burger and apart from the fact that there’s a piece of fried egg in their vegan steak burger (unless of course they used some other vegan protein to make the egg - although I doubt it), I’m a fan. My best description of this would be that it tastes like a cleaner Ramly burger.
They use a sweet chilli that is almost exactly like the traditional Ramly burger and the vegan steak patty does have that similar texture and taste that reminds me of a Ramly burger. But of course, it is elevated with a clean burger bun and assorted vegetables. Fries are kind of just fries so I won’t be going into that.
For the butter crispy mushroom set, I’m a FAN. This is one of those things that I quite frankly won’t even notice the lack of meat and just enjoy as is! Crispy mushroom that melts once it enters your mouth. A creamy butter sauce that is just so mouth watering. Honestly a big fan of this main. It comes with a soup as well!
Star Rating
8/10. My favourite vegetarian restaurant in JB that I’ve tried so far. Pretty similar concept to Daun Kitchen, but I just think the wideness of their menu as well as the tastiness of the food trumps Daun Kitchen for me!
