My Favourite Korean Dramas to Binge on this MCO
Don’t know what to do this MCO? Finding good Korean dramas to watch to no avail? Fret not, because here’s a few suggestions from me on what to watch this MCO!
Where to Watch Korean Dramas
A lot that I suggest will be on Netflix (just because it is more accessible to everyone in general), but I sometimes also watch Korean dramas on MyAsianTv or NewAsianTv (NewAsianTV in general is faster), so just try whatever you can and eventually something should work.
Favourite Current Drama: Hi, Bye, Mama
Kim Tae Hee is an absolute beauty, what can I say? After watching her dismal acting in Yong Pal, I honestly didn’t expect much from this drama at all, but this is an absolute tear jerker! This is one of those interesting dramas where you legitimately can’t hate the three main characters because they’re all in different situations.
A basic summary of the story is that there is a married couple Cha Yu-Ri (Kim Tae Hee) and Cho Kang Hwa (Lee Kyu Hyung). They’re expecting a baby but Cha Yu-Ri is in a car crash and dies - but her child lives. 5 years later, she returns in a human form after roaming around as a ghost for 5 years. Cho Kang Hwa is married to Oh Min Jung (Go Bo Gyeol) and she has been taking care of her child.
Honestly, so much love for the cast and the story and I can’t wait for it to come out every week!
Available on Netflix
Dr Romantic (or Romantic Doctor Master Kim)
This is so good that there is an actual sequel for it! I’m a big fan because there are many different storylines that intertwine quite well. If anything, I would describe this as a group of imperfect doctors working together and learning from their mistakes from a mastermind in Master Kim.
Might be a bit much if you’re not into doctors and anything medical related because it is quite heavy on actual medical content but it’s a good watch just for the morality shown in the different stories and the very limited romance. I’m a SUPER big fan of Seo Hyun Jin as well, so that’s a bonus (I’m a bigger fan of the first season).
Available on Netflix
Another Miss Oh
As you can see, I’m a big fan of Seo Hyun Jin, because this is her second appearance on this list. This is a SUPER good drama honestly, probably one of the best of all time. It’s not exactly based entirely on reality because the male lead can see visions into the future but the romance in this drama is just WOW.
The basic premise of this drama is that the male lead is left heartbroken by his fiance. He subsequently hears that she is about to be remarried, so he destroys her marriage by getting her new fiance sent to jail…. Only problem is that he got the wrong Oh Hae Young (they have the same name)… and not just that but they were from the same high school and this Oh Hae Young has been the ‘less pretty’ Oh Hae Young since back then.
He falls in love with her and eventually chaos ensues. But such a legit amazing story.
Available on Netflix.
Itaewon Class
This is another pretty recent drama and the way that I would describe this drama is that it is super charming. Park Seo Joon does a great job in this drama and this is one of those that really I guess make you look at your own life and try to make those changes for the better.
It really just makes you want to root for an underdog like Park Seo Joon! Kim Da Mi is actually SUPER charming as well because of her hair and how her character is written, so this is honestly something really cool to watch. This is one of those dramas that fall in the pure not that much romance (there is a bit), not that much comedy, but just a pure storyline drama.
Available on Netflix.
Fight for My Way
Pretty sure this ranks up there in almost everyone’s favourites if you’ve actually watched it. Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won are just absolutely relationship goals! Not just that, but the second lead couple is actually super cute together as well!
This is basically a drama about friendship, relationships and just people chasing their dreams! Super cute romances, really interesting relationship dynamics when ex-girlfriends and people crushing on them prop up and a villain who will do anything to try to get his way. Definitely one of my favourite dramas of all time!
