Food Blog | La Casa del Tango | DIFC | Dubai
Today I’m sharing an Argentinian restaurant-dance studio hybrid restaurant in DIFC, Dubai. This review covers what they offer for their business lunch. I’m not particularly sure when they hold tango classes, but all the information (including booking) is available on their website.
Where it Is
La Casa del Tango is located in DIFC Dubai - North Zone. The parking for the north zone is fairly expensive, so my family ended up parking on the other side (I believe it was the south side parking) - which had 3 hours free parking (set your GPS to Carrefour DIFC and its quite near the parking spot we parked at).
There’s a blue exterior to La Casa del Tango and its quite hard to miss when you walk inside DIFC.
Address: Unit 07, Gate Avenue, North Zone - DIFC - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Operating Hours:
Daily: 8am - 1am
What it Costs
I ate here with my parents and we ate for AED437 (with VAT).

They have two price choices for their business lunch offerings, the first being AED99 and the other being AED149. The only difference between the two offerings is the choice of main. With the AED99 set, you have mains like sofrito, ravioli, etc. With the AED149 offering, you have choice of ribeye, striploin, chicken among other choices.
With the business lunch, you get a starter, a main, a side (sweet potato or normal fries), a drink and a coffee.
We got 2 of the AED 149 set (striploin + ribeye) and 1 of the AED 99 set (Sofrito). You also get a choice of appetiser (we got 1 x chicken empanada, 1 x beef empanada and 1 x Escabeche de Cabrito - which directly translated means pickled goat, I believe).
We also got a Churros with Dulce de Leche (AED 40).
Overall, for a business lunch in Dubai, this is a good option to go for with colleagues based on value for money and quality.
How it Tastes
The short form of my experience here for their business lunch is that their food is really tasty.
You start off with their complimentary bread. Bread’s warm, the selection is big - big enough that most people won’t finish it - and it goes great with their truffle butter. You have breads and cheese breads among other pastries - but their truffle butter is tasty and gets your tastebuds going for the appetisers.
From a Malaysian perspective, their Empanadas taste like what is basically a Curry Puff - only without the potatoes and without the strong curry taste. Strangely enough, it has that kind of curry fragrance without the spice, even though I’m pretty sure that’s not what they used. But pastry and filling both really remind me of a curry puff (both the chicken and beef).
I had more of the Escabeche de Cabrito - which I wanted to try because I haven’t ever heard of it before. To my surprise, this is actually a cold appetiser with a piece of pastry below. But the goat isn’t too gamey and the hot + cold combination goes decently well together.
I had more of the striploin (medium) and let me say that the meat is so juicy! And I say that as a compliment in every which way. A hearty piece of beef that pairs splendidly well with their chimichurri sauce. But strictly speaking, this is a no frills, yummy piece of steak. I would say that the ribeye is similar - but more suitable if you want more fat in your meat.
The main point of the Gramajo egg with potatoes and sofrito would be the truffle oil. The moment it arrives, even, you notice that unmistakeable smell of truffle oil. You basically have a combination of potato, egg and sofrito combining for a more carb-heavy meal.
I would say the churros are decent, they didn’t blow me away in particular, but they’re a nice addition to finish off the meal (although with the Dulce de Leche, it is quite a heavy combination to finish your meal).
Star Rating
7.5/10. Overall, the quality of the food is great! The staff attending to us was fairly new, so I’m willing to overlook some of it, but he was helpful and attentive throughout the meal. The steaks, in particular, are really delicious! But just consider that this is a fairly heavy meal for lunch.
(I would say that although the deal is for lunch, this meal is more suited for a dinner in general because it is on the heavier side - I personally think steaks for lunch is pretty heavy)
