Food Blog | Hutong Dubai | DIFC | Dubai
I blogged about Tan Cha last week, and this time it is Hutong’s turn! This week I’m talking about the business lunch offering at Hutong Dubai!
Where it Is
Hutong Dubai is located at DIFC and there’s a dedicated valet service for Hutong. It’s located on the side of one of the roads, so just look out for it when you’re near the Hutong restaurant.
Address: Hutong Dubai - Gate Building 6, Ground Floor DIFC Al Sukook Street - DIFC - Dubai
Operating Hours
Lunch | 12pm to 3:30pm
Brunch | 12:30pm to 4pm (Saturdays)
Dinner | 6pm to 11:30pm
Bar | 12pm to 2am
An additional note: their business lunch is served from Monday to Friday from 12pm to 2:30pm
What it Costs
One of the big appeals of Hutong is that it’s at a good price. I would say at a cheaper price than Tan Cha, you get arguably better food and service (of course, that’s just my opinion). For their business lunch, you get two options, either:
AED88 Business lunch set : 1 soup, 1 main course
AED110 Business lunch set: 1 soup, 2 starters, 1 main course
Just for the sake of comparison, Tan Cha serves 1 starter, 1 main, 1 tea at AED120. Quality-wise, I would say it is roughly the same, although size-wise, I would say Tan Cha has a slightly larger portion size.

How it Tastes
In short, really tasty!
We started off with the hot and sour soup. A really classic hot and sour soup that really gets you excited for the next course for the meal.
For the starters, we selected a wild mushroom and truffle bao, as well as a Hutong prawn roll. I think both dishes are really good. The wild mushroom and truffle bao is right up there with other variations I’ve had around Dubai- not better, not worse. The prawn roll is really good and I would say that ordering the business lunch set with 2 starters is definitely the more worthwhile deal to take when you’re here.
You’re essentially paying AED22 for 2 starters, which is basically a steal for Dubai.
Next up, the mains!
I had the wok tossed chicken with Chinese leek. Frankly speaking, I think it’s a really homely dish. Something that is so simple yet so delicious. I honestly really enjoyed this dish as a whole.
My dad had the Yu Xiang Tiger Prawn and I think that if you want something a bit more unique - because I would say that the wok tossed chicken isn’t too far off from something you would have in other Chinese restaurants - I would recommend the Tiger Prawn dish. Lots of flavour, and a tasty Tiger prawn. Not the freshest tasting Tiger prawn you will have, but I think it’s really decent at this price point.
To finish off the meal, we had a dessert to share. We ordered one portion of the Business Lunch Golden Fortune dessert (AED38). As again, this is still an okay price for me relative to a lot of other places.
I would say that the dessert is almost a fusion dish. It looks like such a typical Chinese dessert dish, but in essence, I would say that it’s components - sorbet, coconut mousse, passionfruit ganache - are largely of Western influences. Really good dessert though!
Star Rating
8/10. They do a lot of things well. The food, the pricing, and the service are all really good. Quite frankly, this is porbably one of my favourite Chinese Business lunches I’ve had in Dubai thus far!
