Where it Is

It is located in Soho, London. The two closest Underground stations would be Piccadily Circus and Oxford Circus (almost smack in the middle of the two) and it’s located on the first floor (you need to take a flight of stairs up to find it). Otherwise, I would recommend just following the GPS coordinates!

I would highly recommend making a booking beforehand - because the day we went, it was actually pretty packed! You can make a booking for Señor Ceviche by clicking on this link right over here via SevenRooms.

Address: Señor Ceviche, Kingly Court, Carnaby, London W1B 5PW, United Kingdom

What it Costs

They recommend three dishes per person - but more if you’re hungry! When browsing the menu, we saw that most of the dishes were around 10 pounds - so when we saw the tasting menu for 34 pounds per person, we actually thought that the tasting menu was more worth it - so we gave that a try.

Here’s what’s in their tasting menu:

CANCHA - Peruvian popped corn (v)
QUINOA CROQUETAS - Quinoa and cheddar croquetas with ají rocoto and pineapple salsa (v)
CHIFA CHICHARRONES - Slow-cooked, crispy pork belly with smoked sweet potato purée and chancaca soy
SALMON TIRADITO - Salmon, rocoto emulsion, piquillo pepper, roasted camote, dill and crispy quinoa
SEÑOR CEVICHE - Sea bass and octopus ceviche with ají amarillo tiger’s milk, sweet potato purée, avocado, coriander, red onion and crispy baby squid
SUPER POLLO - Marinated and grilled chicken leg with rocoto salsa
PACHAMANCA PORK RIBS - Slow-cooked baby back ribs with Yakiniku sauce and roasted peanuts (n)
PATATAS FRITAS - Sweet potato fries with ají rocoto mayonnaise (v) (veo)
MARAS SOLTERO - Spinach with truffle ponzu, mushrooms, edamame beans, radish, pomegranate seeds and crispy quinoa (ve)
CHOCOLATE MOUSSE - With caramelised hazelnuts (n)(ve)

As you can see, that’s a whole lot of dishes. A grand total of 8 + 1 dessert (I wouldn’t really count the corn as a dish because it really is just a small snack). And I wholly believe that this is a really good deal! The concept is a sharing concept and basically they bring you the number of portions you desire (in me and my girlfriend’s case - 2) in a single plate.

Our next door neighbours - who ordered a-la-carte were actually looking at our dishes with interest whilst they were coming out haha, because there were so many!

Our bill for the night looked like this:

2 x Lima with Love (Tasting Menu) - 68 pounds (VAT included)
Service Charge (12.5%) - 8.50 pounds
Total - 76.50 pounds

How it Tastes

In short - I think that all the dishes had their own quirks and uniqueness to them. But they generally share the theme of being super delicious to eat! I believe the first thing we were supposed to have was the cancha or the corn - but they forgot about that, and we asked about it after our desserts. But basically it’s a small little bowl of corn that serve as a light bite before all the food comes out.

Senor Ceviche Starters

The first four dishes on the table were the quinoa croquetas, the chifa chicharrones (pork belly), senor ceviche, and the salmon tiradito.

Pork Belly Senor Ceviche

Chifa Chicharrones (Pork Belly) @ Senor Ceviche

My favourite among the starters (and arguably the whole meal) was the pork belly. I hate to make the comparison to Chinese cooking - but I naturally do, being Malaysian Chinese - but it somewhat resembles Chinese style pork belly but of course having its own quirks. The pork belly skin is super crispy but the meat is just oh so tender and melt-in-your mouth. I seriously thought it was so good!

Senor Ceviche Signature Dish

The signature dish over at Señor Ceviche …. the Señor Ceviche

Their signature, the Señor Ceviche was decent - but I would maybe say it’s one of the more acquired taste kind of dishes. I found it okay, but I think that me and my girlfriend would give it the lowest rating among all the dishes we had on the night (which isn’t saying that much considering we found everything delicious). Still, lots of flavour - and I really like the crunchy elements to the dish.

Quinoa Croquetas Senor Ceviche

Quinoa Croquetas @ Senor Ceviche

I thought the quinoa croquetas were a delightfully cute dish with lots of flavour (I am generally a fan of all things fried, so I definitely enjoyed this dish). I really do think that the element of these citrusy sauces really come to life at Senor Ceviche and play a key role in elevating all of the dishes here!

Salmon Tiradito Senor Ceviche

Salmon Tiradito @ Senor Ceviche

The salmon tiradito is another example of this. I actually really liked their rendition in particular because a lot of other salmon tiradito dishes I’ve had in the past are really overly sweet, and I think they did a really good job of balancing the flavours of this dish!

Panchamanca Pork Ribs

Panchamanca Pork Ribs

Now for the mains. The rest of the four dishes came out together. The first main is the pachamanca pork ribs. Another delicious dish. Comes off the bone so easily (and that’s when you know it’s going to be delicious). Soft, tender, flavourful are probably the three words that come in to my mind when indulging on the pork ribs. Super yummy!

Super Pollo Senor Ceviche

Super Pollo (Grilled Chicken) @ Senor Ceviche

The same can be said of the super pollo, or the grilled chicken leg. A fantastic cook on the chicken accompanied by a banging salsa and it’s a combination that just works so well together.

Spinach Salad Senor Ceviche

Patatas Fritas Senor Ceviche

Sweet Potato Fries @ Senor Ceviche

There’s also a spinach salad and a sweet potato fries to accompany the main dishes. Both are simple, classic dishes that work well to fill up your tummy.

Chocolate Mousse Senor Ceviche

Their chocolate mousse was a good dessert to end the meal off as well. Overall, a fantastic meal over at Señor Ceviche.

Star Rating

9/10. Really good food, vibes, and service! A combination that is really hard to beat. It even has a price point for a London dinner that’s pretty darn hard to beat. I think this is a splendid spot to indulge on food that you probably wouldn’t have everyday (Peruvian food) and this gets my seal of approval!
