KFC have a new chicken offering at their branches in Malaysia, and it is none other than the KFC Parmesan Truffle Crunch. Here’s just a short post detailing my personal thoughts on the new offering!

(Personally speaking, I think that the Spicy Gochujang Crunch was a MASSIVE let down. It had a lot of potential, and it just fell flat. This is the new offer that came out on the 8th of January 2019. Perhaps in lew with the new burger offerings that McDonalds and Burger King are offering for Chinese New Year)

Price

The price listed for the KFC Parmesan Truffle Crunch is actually RM15 for a 2 piece set, and RM21.50 for a 3 piece set. Today I personally had the 3 piece set (I was hungry and had a regular a-la-carte fries on top), and it came up to a total (with the fries) of RM24.50, so you could say the price was pretty much around RM21.50 (pretty much, as listed). The set means you get 3 pieces of chicken, the cheese, a serving of mashed potatoes and coleslaw each, and a Mountain Dew drink (which goes pretty hand in hand, complimenting the meal)

For 3 pieces is it worth? Here are the prices for both the normal and the KFC Parmesan Truffle Crunch Promotion. The 3 piece set (normal) is RM20.20, and the current promotion is worth RM24.50 (these prices are for delivery, from their online website), so is it worth the RM4 increase? I would say for this one, definitely yes!

Taste

A million times better than the spicy Gochujang Crunch promotion. They use an original piece of chicken (no spice at all), and cover it with some truffle/cheese infused sauce. Then they give you a plastic container of parmesan cheese for you to drizzle on top.

To be fair, I’m surprised I even got to that very umami truffle kind of taste. You can actually feel a truffle-like taste when biting into the chicken! The cheese is a bit meh, as it isn’t that strong, and isn’t really infused into the chicken.

But overall, as I’m sure you can surely tell, I really enjoy this promotion, and one that I really don’t mind having again!

7.5/10. KFC got this one right! The taste, the combination is really good, and I definitely recommend trying THIS promotion if you head to a KFC sometime soon.
